THAT MY BOY IS A DUCK by ROSS B. YOUNG

In 1995 Ross Young wrote – "An eager, young pup is accompanied by a wise and steady elder on his first visit to the marsh. Enthusiasm for the hunt and years of training are just beginning."

"That, My Boy, is a Duck" was published as a limited edition print of 500 in 1995. The very popular edition sold out in a matter of months. The image has also been used by Ducks Unlimited for Christmas cards and t-shirts and was featured in U.S. Art Magazine in an article about Ross B. Young.

The idea for this painting was conceived by Ross while dove hunting with his then 6 year old son Reid. While Reid retrieved birds, Ross came up with the idea to use reverse personification and portray himself and his son as Labs passing on the hunting tradition. Back in the studio, doves turned into ducks and a classic was born. 21" x 28"
